Nereus uses Media Relations Expertise to Cement Semiconductor Company's Position as an Industry Leader

Challenge: Strengthening Already Stellar Positioning on the Big Stage

Pulse~LINK, a privately held fabless semiconductor corporation, sought to reinforce its stature as a pioneer of Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology and the only semiconductor company to develop UWB technology for whole-home distribution of interactive HD multimedia content over a hybrid wired/wireless network. It also sought to position its CWaveŽ solution as the first and best technology to facilitate room-to-room distribution of multiple HDTV streams and multimedia content over both coax and wireless connections--simultaneously from the same chipset.

Solution: Nereus Develops Media Relations Strategy for Maximum Impact

Nereus' strategy was to highlight industry adoption by promoting product shipments and industry wins. Nereus also worked with the client to strategically release product announcements timed around the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The team leveraged independent testing by octoScope in a release that validated Pulse~LINK's chipset as the fastest wireless networking technology. To further drive media interest in Pulse~LINK and garner coverage, Nereus orchestrated individual briefings with key editors and analysts at CES.

Results: Pulse~Link Becomes Major Success Story at CES

Positioning Pulse~LINK as an industry pioneer at CES was a huge success. Pulse~LINK's exhibit attracted considerable traffic throughout the show and press events were mobbed, providing excellent exposure. Nereus capitalized on press/analyst outreach to disperse key messages and showcase the technology.

Pulse~LINK's whole-home networking solution was named one of the most compelling technologies at CES by show organizers. The company also won an Editor's Choice Award from Popular Mechanics as well as the CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award. Pulse~LINK received a gratifying amount of interest from attendees, press and analysts. Four hundred articles were generated featuring leadership positioning coverage that included proper mention of Pulse~LINK and incorporated key messages.
