Nereus interactive Web site campaign wins PRSA Award

Nereus received an Award of Excellence at the annual awards ceremony for the Portland Metro Chapter of Public Relations Society of America, held October 9, 2008. The team received the award for Frank's Cubicle in the Integrated Marketing Communications Campaign category.

Frank's Cubicle is an interactive Web site campaign designed to promote the USB brand to young adults. The Web site attracts attention from the target audience by enabling visitors to select a USB device on Frank's office desk and watch him interact with it. The online media campaign engaged a hard to reach demographic and delivered an effective return on investment (ROI) for Nereus' client the USB Implementers Forum.

Nereus Online Media Campaign Wins Bronze Beacon Award

Nereus has won an award from the Oregon/Columbia chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. Nereus received the award for its "Frank's Cubicle" entry, which received recognition in the External Web Marketing Communication category.

The client, USB-IF, was looking for a successful and cost-effective tactic to reach a young adult audience with disposable income and an interest in technology.

Nereus stepped in with an online solution that leveraged its knowledge of online media and social networks. The Nereus team dreamed up FranksCubicle.com, an interactive Web site. The Web site allows visitors to choose a USB device on Frank's desk and watch him interact with it. The team used social and viral online tools, such as MySpace and YouTube, to promote the Web site in addition to online advertising and eBlasts.

Frank's Cubicle was a success, with 120,000 unique visitors to the site and more than one million page views. The site lives on today without agency interaction, and proves to be a cost-effective and attention-grabbing way to promote USB technology. By meeting client objectives through a new strategy, Nereus executed a successful campaign.

OCIABC is an organization that provides networking opportunities and resources for communications professionals across the Northwest. The 2008 Bronze Beacon Awards event, "The Power of Communication," benefited the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Nereus Shares Social Media Expertise with a Hands-On Presentation for PRSA

Nereus hosted a presentation on blogs, blogging and social media. The presentation, Trend Spotting Special After-Hours Hands-on: Social Media Mentoring, was sponsored by the Portland chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The session covered how to use (Google Reader) and leverage RSS feeds to continually monitor news sites and blogs for new content while keeping it all organized. Nereus showed how powerful these tools are and how easy and helpful they are to use in the day-to-day life of a PR professional.

All attendees were given a list of PR/Marketing/Social Media blogs to begin building their own Google Reader to monitor and to begin receiving content. The Nereus team worked with attendees to demonstrate and familiarize them with the social media tools and get them started receiving content.
