Nereus team members Kim Myers and Blair Cook spoke Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the Portland Communicator's Conference, hosted by Public Relations Society of America Portland Chapter (PRSA) and Oregon Chapter International Association of Business Communicators (OCIABC). Kim led a presentation titled "New Medium in the PR Mix: Viral Marketing Case Study." FranksCubicle.com. She used great visuals, including a tour through Frank's Cubicle, to explain the social media and online marketing techniques that made the campaign a success. A key message from Nereus was the value of client relationships when proposing new marketing mediums, and the impact viral and online marketing can have on delivering a high ROI.
Following the presentation, there was a Roundtable discussion regarding Social Media best practices. Nereus walked the audience through different social media tools and showcased how these tools can be used to stay connected with various industries and social communities. Nereus team members showed how their interactions with social media influence their day-to-day strategic thinking.
The discussion was very integrated with audience members asking questions and sharing their own best practices.
Both sessions had high attendance and were received well by conference attendees. Nereus and Frank's Cubicle soon became local buzz words.

VTM PR Earns Three PRSA Spotlight Awards for Client Campaigns
November 2, 2006
VTM PR received three Spotlight Awards at the annual PRSA Spotlight Awards Ceremony held November 2, 2006. All three entries from VTM received recognition within their category, including honors in Reputation and Brand Management, Business to Business programs and campaigns, and Press and Media Kit tactics.
PR Director Lisa Sherwin and Account Executive Kim Miller received a Spotlight Award for their work in Reputation and Brand Management on behalf of the USB-IF. This six-month campaign to neutralize a perceived competitive threat exemplified how VTM PR's efforts helped change the perceptions of the market. VTM PR worked with the USB-IF to deliver an extensive media outreach campaign. This included one-on-one briefings with key press and analysts, articles demonstrating the successful promotion of Certified Wireless USB and supporting analyst quotes.
VTM's second Spotlight Award recognized the efforts of Account Manager Lori Zielinski and Account Executive Kim Miller in the Business to Business campaigns category. VTM PR overcame logistical challenges and worked with global decision makers to plan and execute a successful client launch event for the High-Definition Audio-Video Network Alliance. Despite constant changes and a short timeframe, the event exceeded client expectations and campaign objectives.
VTM PR also received an Award of Excellence for the innovative work of Lisa Sherwin and Heather Ailara. The duo created a unique press kit targeted to reach the audience of CES Unveiled, a press-only event held before the International Consumer Electronics Show. VTM PR's one-page handout with a business card sized CD provided all traditional press kit materials without the bulky, content-heavy folders the press are accustomed to.
The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is a national organization focused on professional development and networking for PR professionals. Spotlight Awards are bestowed yearly upon public relations professionals by their peers to recognize exceptional PR efforts in the local Portland PRSA Chapter.
VTM Showcases New Headquarters at Open House
September 14, 2006
VTM hosted more than 100 clients, vendors, and community members for an Open House event the evening of September 14 at the new company headquarters in Beaverton. Visitors were given tours of the new facility, showcasing the increase in work space for the growing number of employees. VTM moved into the 28,500 square-foot building in late March.
The new building not only houses nearly 80 VTM employees, but also serves as the headquarters for nearly 40 of the most successful technology organizations in the world. In fact, every single computing system (meaning every notebook, desktop, and server) shipped worldwide today contains at least two or three of the technologies we manage. One of the most recognizable of these technologies is the USB standard. VTM is responsible for implementing the marketing and compliance programs of USB and many other technologies.
Throughout the evening, clients and other guests mingled with VTM employees while the Dennis Costi Trio played jazz in the background. VTM's clients come from a wide range of backgrounds, representing technologies, consumer electronics, computing, financial services, healthcare, alternative energy, telecom, education, interior design, commercial and residential real estate, and more.
