Nereus spotlight on Rachel Shaver, Senior Account Executive


Rachel Shaver has been a valuable Nereus team member for more than three years and was recently promoted to Senior Account Executive. Teamwork, collaboration and the desire to garner solid results for her clients are what drive her. Rachel once used her top-notch skills and attention to detail to help coordinate a successful press conference for a client in little over a month's time. She also has played a significant role in the media relations surrounding DMTF's successful entry into the cloud computing space. Additionally, she has leveraged her flair for writing to develop several press announcements for SATA-IO, another valued client.

Rachel learned about group dynamics and how to effectively manage groups or teams in her favorite college course, Small Group Communication, which gave her a great foundation for PR and marketing. She enjoys the fact that a job in the marketing communications field gives her opportunity to bridge diverse interests, to advance a common cause and to influence the future of technology.

Raised in Oregon City, Rachel is a true Oregonian who loves the Oregon Coast as well as Portland because ''its home.'' Nestled in the lush valley between the coastal range and the Cascade Mountains range, Portland offers a wide variety of things to do without having to travel very far, she says. She points out that Portland has been dubbed the ''Silicon Forest'' for the cluster of high-tech companies located in the area. She loves that Portland also feels like both a big city and a small town.

Although she has not traveled overseas yet, her dream vacation would take her to Italy to explore and enjoy the delicious Italian cuisine. In her spare time, Rachel is the "cool" big sister of two siblings and enjoys music, cooking, reading and hanging out with friends and family.
